Responsibilities- Responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and supplies while maintaining quality and supplier relationships. Develop and implement purchasing strategies, negotiate contracts, manage inventory, and collaborate with various departments to meet production needs.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies by analyzing market trends, identifying cost-effective solutions, and ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and supplies.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure best prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Cost optimization: analyze market trends, negotiate prices, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage supplier relationships by building and maintaining strong supplier collaboration and communication to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee inventory management: monitor inventory levels, manage stock of purchased components and materials, and minimize excess or obsolete inventory to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Collaborate with other departments (engineering, production, finance) to align procurement activities with overall business objectives.
- Analyze data and track performance: monitor purchasing trends, supplier performance, and inventory levels to identify areas for improvement and drive data-driven decisions.
- Manage the procurement process from issuing purchase orders to expediting deliveries, ensuring efficient and effective procurement activities.
- Material Requirements Planning: forecast material needs based on production plans and business requirements.
- Address supply chain issues: resolve problems with suppliers to ensure production schedules are met and materials are available when needed.
- Quality assurance: address issues with suppliers promptly and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain accurate records: keep detailed records of purchase orders, invoices, and other relevant documentation.
- Attend the Daily War Room meeting and provide updates on relevant orders; update the war room board with current purchasing-related data.
- Backup for the Manager and all Buyers as necessary.
- Train new buyers.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in procurement, with a preference for experience in a manufacturing or high-volume assembly environment.
- Computer and system skills: proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required; ERP software is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills. Presentation skills preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- NAPM or APICS certification is preferred.

Position Type / HoursThis is a full-time position. The work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 am—4 pm, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Travel is approximately 10% of the time. This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Commerce, CA location.
Compensation & Benefits- Compensation:
The expected pay range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000. Compensation can vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
