Under general supervision, provides journey level clerical and technical duties in support of central stores, including receiving and delivering materials and supplies, maintaining Central Stores warehouse, and ordering and managing inventories for materials and staple supplies.

- Receives and processes materials received in accordance with City policies and procedures; verifies incoming shipments for accuracy and appropriate quantity and quality; verifies accuracy and condition of all materials received against appropriate paperwork.
- Maintains physical inventory of basic maintenance supplies, materials and uniforms; monitors inventory, orders stock replacement and delivers materials as needed; may assist in preparation of Requests for Proposal, obtain quotes and negotiate prices.
- Cleans, organizes, and maintains order in the warehouse, and stacks and stores materials in designated areas.
- Assists with asset tagging of capital items; maintains and replenishes snack bar account.
- Coordinates City uniform services and resolves problems within the scope of authority.
- Maintains a variety of logs, records, and files relating to the purchase and procurement of materials, and supplies; inputs receiving and issuance information into computer system.
- Delivers materials and supplies as needed; ensures that material transfer activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Receives and maintains records; scans documents and files; coordinates records destruction.
- Complies with all equipment and safety rules and regulations; maintains Safety Data Sheets; ensures proper cleanup and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Receives and delivers special events equipment, and assembles light furniture.
- Coordinates disposal of hazardous waste.
- May oversee the work of temporary or seasonal workers.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent GED.
Two (2) years of progressively responsible bookkeeping, clerical, or warehouse experience.
Required Licenses or CertificationsPossess a valid California driver's license and safe driving record.
Must obtain a forklift certification within six (6) months of hire date.
