This role supports three H&R Block tax offices and focuses on leading teams to accelerate seasonal tax business. The role is not remote and requires in-person work.
A flexible part-time schedule starts in the fall to prepare for the busy tax season; from January to April, the role transitions to full-time with evening and weekend hours as needed.
- Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices and lead customer-centric teams to grow the seasonal tax business.
- Serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives for three offices.
- Start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall and transition to full-time from January to April, including evening and weekend hours as needed.
- In-person work across multiple offices; travel between offices as required.
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment (if applicable).
- Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders
- Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing community involvement
- Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions
- Conduct timely performance reviews and partner with the Associate Relations Center to resolve issues and address performance concerns
- Build an engaging team environment across offices by training and coaching associates and recognizing outstanding contributions
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates
- Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management
- Travel between offices as required
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of required tax coursework or assessments
- People management experience with the ability to grow and develop associates
- Aptitude for executing growth plans and leading toward a growth culture
- Strong decision-making and judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset
- Computer proficiency and MS Office skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns)
