Salary: $41,000 – $50,000 annually (commensurate with experience). Hourly Rate: $21.00 – $25.00.

Work Schedule:

Year‑round with 260 compensated days (232 working days), 13 paid holidays, and 15 vacation days.

We are seeking a School Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician to join the facilities team at our award‑winning charter school. This year‑round position ensures that our school remains safe, clean, and functional, fostering a positive learning environment for students and staff. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, occasional deliveries within the campus, light snow removal at entryways, and minor safety‑focused landscaping—with most major landscaping handled by a contracted company.

• Building Maintenance & Repairs
  • Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance using mid‑range power tools and equipment.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems.
• Custodial Services & Cleaning
  • Maintain classrooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Operate custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers and ladders effectively.
• Safety & Emergency Support
  • Respond to emergencies promptly and professionally.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure compliance with school safety standards.
• Documentation & Reporting
  • Use Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) to track maintenance schedules, budgets, and reports.
• Delivery & Logistics Support
  • Manage occasional deliveries within the campus as needed to support school operations.
• Grounds Maintenance & Landscaping
  • Perform light landscaping tasks such as walkway clearing and minor debris removal, coordinating with contracted landscapers for larger tasks.
• Snow Removal
  • Provide light snow removal at school entryways to ensure safe access during winter.

• Salary: $41,000 – $50,000 annually, based on experience
• Hourly Rate: $21.09 – $25.00
• Paid Personal Time Off: 7 days
• 13 paid holidays and 15 vacation days

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in building maintenance, custodial procedures, or facility management preferred.
• Ability to safely operate custodial and maintenance equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, ladders).
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. and performing tasks independently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with staff and vendors.
• Reliable transportation to assigned locations.
• Knowledge in Public Safety, Building and Construction, Mechanical Systems, Customer Service and Personal Care Standards, and English Language Proficiency.
