Industrial Engineer III

Henderson, CO 80640 | 1 Year | Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM

Potential up to 20% travel to a site in Canada. 1 year assignment to start, most likely will end up being 2 years.

Overview

This site rebuilds engines and is going through a large revamp. They are looking to change the layout, bring in new technology, etc. The manager is looking for a Sr. level Industrial Engineer to spearhead this project. The manager is looking for someone with plant-wide experience, rather than smaller project experience.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Ramp up/ramp down experience
  • Experienced with time studies and recognizing gaps
  • Experience integrating new technology and process at a plant level
  • Value stream mapping/Lean methodology experience
  • Ability to successfully launch new products, new processes, plant layouts
  • Ability to successfully determine resources, material, time, etc for new processes and procedures
  • Team player
  • Good work ethic
Job Summary

Assists with the design, improvement, and installation of integrated manufacturing or administrative systems which use people, materials, information, equipment, and energy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists with the creation of standard work methods for new and current production lines.
  • Assists with the design of safe and efficient work stations for manufacturing environments, using plant layout, ergonomic, and work station design principles.
  • Assists with cost analysis on make vs. buy decisions for component or sub-assemblies.

  • Process Layout: Creates and/or modifies an optimized manufacturing process by incorporating knowledge of equipment, human interfaces, sequences of production steps, and facilities requirements in order to reduce process time and waste.
  • Work Measurement: Quantifies and evaluates the elements of work that make up a process by breaking it down into detailed steps to identify and reduce waste, and redistribute work content to optimize process flows.
  • Values differences: Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
  • Collaborates: Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Recognizes areas in which a process can be improved by properly implementing process improvement and waste reduction methodologies to reduce process cost and improve quality in current manufacturing processes.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Integrates product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the design and development of an optimal manufacturing process that meets product design specifications.
  • Industrial Engineering Knowledge: Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.
Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Basic level of relevant work experience required.
