About the Role
Commerce City seeks a strategic and detail-oriented Real Estate & Asset Manager to lead the stewardship of the City’s real property and high-value assets. This role oversees the acquisition, disposition, valuation, and lifecycle management of City‑owned land, facilities, artwork, easements, leases, and other critical assets. Serving as the central point of coordination across departments, this position ensures that City property is thoughtfully managed, properly documented, financially aligned, and positioned to drive long‑term community priorities.
The Real Estate & Asset Manager partners closely with Legal, Finance, and operational teams to review property instruments, interpret title reports and surveys, manage appraisals, and guide strategic decisions related to buy, hold, lease, or sell strategies. This role also advises on risk mitigation, insurance coordination, capital planning, and asset forecasting — bringing clarity, structure, and long‑range vision to the City’s portfolio.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, Facilities Management, Finance, Architecture, Maintenance Operations, Public Policy, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in asset management and reviewing contracts related to real property and assets.
- Experience with asset management systems, GIS platforms, and CMMS tools.
