Senior Accountant

Overview

The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of a growing manufacturing organization. The Senior Accountant ensures accurate financial records, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supports month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant will also provide financial insights, cost analysis, and operational support to drive informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• The Senior Accountant prepares and reviews journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory variances, and production results to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

• Maintain standard costing processes and perform variance analysis.

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost allocations.

• Assist with audits, ERP system projects, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in manufacturing.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and cost accounting principles.

• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ERP implementations or process improvement projects.

• Knowledge of inventory management and standard costing methodologies.

• Exposure to audit support and internal control documentation.
