Position: E-Commerce Team Leader (In-Store Shopper Department Manager)

The Team Leader, WFMOA: E-Commerce role involves driving the execution of product, labor, and customer demand metrics.

You will perform many micro-functions including but not limited to people management, non-inventory management, account management, and problem solving. You may be the front-line contact and first point of entry for our team members and business partners, partnering with store support teams as needed. Our focus areas are safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity, with the goal of best-in-class processes that reduce costs.

You will be the main contact for in-store shoppers and cross-department partners, requiring strong people skills, and you will develop strategies to improve the team member and customer experience. The role requires operating in a highly ambiguous environment, daily communication with store leadership, and being a subject matter expert on WFMOA processes and KPI tracking.

Responsibilities
  • Performance of all aspects of daily operations including supporting WFMOA customer delivery and/or pick up orders, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned.
  • Manage and work with your team of Associate Team Leaders, Supervisors, and team members to hire, train, and address team needs to satisfy and delight customers.
  • Work and communicate with Store Leadership to drive operational improvement in KPIs and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs; direct team members to satisfy and delight customers; respond promptly to customer needs and questions.
  • Oversee the creation of the In-Store Shopper Team schedule to ensure staffing metrics and capacity to support incoming WFMOA orders.
  • Review hourly, daily and weekly scheduling and order volume to ensure the shopper team can support incoming WFMOA orders.
  • Foster a positive environment of teamwork, mutual respect, and morale to support In-Store Shopper/E-Commerce Team and cross-functional teams.
  • Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all department areas including staging area and coolers, and ensure inventory is well-stocked and properly rotated.

Basic Qualifications
  • 24+ months retail experience including 12+ months in a leadership or similar role
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • You are authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Prior experience leading high-volume teams
  • Ability to work overtime during peak seasons and year-round; flexible to work nights, weekends, etc.
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications including scheduling and ordering software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with public speaking or writing
  • Enjoy analytical work and using data to develop solutions
  • Data-driven problem solving and ownership mindset
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and aligned with our products, values, and company philosophy
  • Demonstrates knowledge of products, item locations, pricing, and awareness of competitors and industry trends

Compensation and Benefits

The wage range for this position is $23.60-$42.50 hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers “Whole Benefits,” which may include health insurance, retirement plan benefits, eligibility for a store discount, paid time off, and access to other benefit programs. Eligibility for Whole Benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable Whole Benefits plan at a person’s date of hire.
