QualificationsHighway Maintenance Worker 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction and in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary. Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
Highway Technician 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment. Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
Supplemental Information- This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
- All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period.
- All 3rd shift employees receive a 0.60 shift differential.
- Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
- The final candidate will undergo a criminal background check; an individual assessment of prior convictions may exclude applicants.
- Final applicants may be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointments. Positive test may disqualify.
- This position is subject to federal testing regulations (49 CFR Part 40 and 382) on drug and alcohol use.
- FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse registration is required for selected applicants.
