2026 U.S. Senior Open Admissions Ambassador
Job Description – The USGA is a mission-based golf organization whose purpose is to unify the golf community through handicapping and grassroots programs; to showcase the game's best talent through the U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open and 13 other national championships and our museum; to provide unbiased global governance with The R&A through the playing, equipment and Amateur Status rules; and to advance issues important to golf's future, with a focus on driving sustainability, accessibility and inclusion.

Position Timeframe:
Championship Only - June 28 - July 5, 2026
The Admissions Ambassador position is designed for college and graduate students interested in pursuing a career relating to one or more of the following fields: sports and live events, sales and hospitality, customer service, and evolving technology. This seasonal role is a paid 7-day position with housing provided at the U.S. Senior Open from June 28 to July 5, 2026, at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.
What you can expect:
Selected candidates will join the USGA Ticketing Department on site at the U.S. Senior Open to provide exceptional assistance with mobile ticket resolution, gate operations, ticket sales, and access control. This role requires assisting at fan entry gates and hospitality venues for extended periods of time to enforce USGA admissions policies and assist with entry procedures. Students may also assist with box office operations including selling tickets and will-call credential distribution.
Admissions Ambassadors will act as a liaison between golf fans and the USGA Ticketing Department.
What you'll do:
- Support box office operations, including ticket sales and resolution, in addition to credential will-call pick-up
- Support gate operations while upholding USGA admissions policies and working in tandem with security, volunteers and vendors
- Support hospitality venue operations, including scanning tickets and distributing day specific wristbands to guests
- Answer mobile ticket questions including but not limited to scanning, transferring, and accessing digital tickets
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring to the USGA:
- Familiarity with live events, ticketing, guest experience and/or operations
- Strong customer service skills displayed in a clear and professional manner
- Must be tech savvy and able to demonstrate functionality of mobile devices and other equipment
- Shows situational management and can assist with guests while under pressure and maintaining a calm demeanor
- Capability to work independently and in a close team setting for a long period of time
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment at a consistent, efficient pace
- Golf knowledge a plus
Candidate Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate (rising sophomore or above) or graduate program at an accredited college or university
- This role requires the ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 40 lbs. in weight and to stand for long periods of time
- Able to work long hours, nights, holidays, and weekends as necessary for multiple days at a time
- Transportation to and from the course is the responsibility of the employee. Transportation is not provided but carpooling with other ambassadors is encouraged.
Timeframe:
Admission Ambassadors are required to be on site daily at the 2026 U.S. Senior Open at Scioto Country Club in Columbus Ohio. This role takes place from June 28 to July 5, 2026. Team members may surpass 50+ hours per Championship week, often arriving before sunrise and working until sunset.
Compensation and Benefits:
U.S. Senior Open Admission Ambassadors are paid $17 per hour with overtime opportunities. Students will be provided with complimentary shared accommodations, championship branded apparel, and daily meals while working. Admissions Ambassadors are not required to stay in the provided USGA accommodations if they can provide their own housing nearby.
Admission Ambassadors also receive access to enjoy the golf Championship as a spectator outside of working hours.
