This position requires a strong specialization in Generative AI (GenAI), with a focus on applying large language models (LLMs), AI agents, and agentic workflows to drive innovation and operational efficiency across the insurance value chain.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development Architect, build, and deploy GenAI solutions—including LLMs, AI agents, and agentic systems—for use cases such as document summarization and intelligent document processing, synthetic data generation for model training and testing, conversational AI for customer, agent-facing applications, and internal associates, workflow automation and decision support systems.
- Business Collaboration Partner with cross‑functional teams (e.g., underwriting, claims, legal, marketing) to identify high‑impact opportunities for GenAI applications and translate business needs into scalable AI solutions.
- Responsible AI & Governance Champion responsible AI practices by ensuring transparency, fairness, and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. Contribute to model governance frameworks and risk assessments.
- Innovation & Thought Leadership Stay abreast of the latest advancements in GenAI, LLMs, and agentic AI. Lead internal knowledge‑sharing sessions, contribute to capability‑building efforts, and mentor junior team members.
- Experimentation & Evaluation Conduct rapid prototyping, prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, and evaluation of GenAI models. Leverage A/B testing and human‑in‑the‑loop feedback to iterate and improve model performance.
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands‑on experience with GenAI or LLMs.
- Proven experience building and deploying GenAI models, AI agents, or agentic workflows.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, and evaluation of LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, LLaMA).
- Strong foundation in NLP, deep learning, and generative modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.
- Experience with cloud platforms and MLOps best practices.
- Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, Tensor Flow, Transformers, Scikit‑learn).
- Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD for ML pipelines.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills to convey complex AI concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
This role does not qualify for employer‑sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.
