We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Quality Engineer (Test Automation Developer) to join our Fintech Flowmasters line, supporting the Nationwide Finance backend application suites. This role will increase testing capacity by building and maintaining AI‑enabled automation, freeing up day‑to‑day line execution and creating a clear AI champion within our QE practices. With strong TOSCA, AI tooling, and scripting skills (SQL/Python, low‑code/no‑code/pro‑code a plus), this engineer turns one‑off test efforts into reusable assets and offers an attractive growth path for high‑potential QEs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Update and implement test automation frameworks for multi‑system projects.
  • Perform card‑level testing, test case planning, and optimize test efficiencies.
  • Contribute to test community forums, sharing best practices and leveraging AI‑driven solutions for test expansion and effectiveness.
  • Under guidance, carry out procedures to ensure all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end‑user requirements.
  • Analyze and review requirements, user stories and technical work products.
  • Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to protect data and technology solutions from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Use the appropriate quality engineering tools to design and create the automation needed.
  • Validate basic test results, record and research defects.
  • Leverage appropriate test engineering and automation tools and techniques for each technology domain and application.
  • Assist in identifying means to deliver more effective and efficient testing without compromising quality.
  • Execute basic to moderate release testing and back out testing when needed.
  • Identify, document, and report several release test results.
  • Address defects found in release testing and work with the appropriate team members to resolve open testing issues or testing questions.
  • Align with the Nationwide automated testing reference architecture.
  • Comply with release management process governance and timelines throughout the release.
Must‑Have Qualifications
  • Strong automation mindset with proven experience in test automation development.
  • An AI mindset, looking to expand their QE role into AI software development within our QE space.
  • Hands‑on experience with Tosca and other automation tools.
  • Proficiency in API testing (Postman or similar tools).
  • Solid understanding of test planning, execution, and dependency coordination.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
  • Working knowledge of defect tracking tool/s.
  • Experience with CI/CD integration for automated test pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AI‑based testing approaches for efficiency and coverage.

This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus, Ohio office two days per week on Mondays and Tuesdays. Remote internal associates may also be considered.
