Position: Housing Outreach Specialist

Housing Outreach Specialist, Grant Funded Position

Position Purpose

The Housing Outreach Specialist will engage with people experiencing unsheltered homelessness in Franklin County and connect them with stabilizing resources for housing, healthcare, addiction recovery, and other supports. The role involves working as a team to identify needs in the city, respond to each individual’s situation appropriately, and remove barriers to housing while collaborating with diverse community partners.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness; assess needs; connect clients to housing, healthcare, and recovery services; collaborate with community partners; maintain accurate client data using Microsoft Excel; work as part of a multidisciplinary team to remove barriers to stable housing.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Education or GED required
  • Effective communication skills
  • Active and valid driver’s license
  • Field experience working hands‑on with the homeless population (preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and data entry required
