Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
The Family Resource Specialist (FRS) is responsible for completing the HFA Assessment tool (validated Family Resilience and Opportunities for Growth (FROG) Scale) to identify family strengths and concerns at the start of services with parents. The Family Support Specialist (FSS) is responsible for initiating and maintaining regular and long‑term (up to three or five years) contact and support with families, provide emotional support, parenting education and guidance, and linkage to community resources through weekly, bi‑monthly, monthly, and quarterly home visits with at‑risk parents of newborns and children under age five years.
Home‑based service delivery helps to develop healthy family relationships and reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect among families needing intensive services. FRS/FSS will work full‑time (hours per week) and are directly responsible to the Healthy Families Program Manager.
- Positive parenting experience or prior experience in child abuse prevention, home‑based services, parent education, nursing, child development, and related areas.
