The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a Foster Care Specialist - Case Manager to join our Foster Care department. The Foster Care Specialist - Case Manager provides direct support and case management services to foster parents, natural parents, and children in Foster Care, ensuring all documentation and reports are completed accurately.

What You'll Do

  • Assess prospective foster parent candidates and licensed foster parents to ensure compliance with legal requirements of ODJFS and accrediting bodies.
  • Evaluate their ability to meet the social, emotional, medical, physical, mental health, and educational needs of foster youth.
  • Gauge the safety and stability of children in foster placements.
  • Identify and address the emotional, physical, social, and educational needs of children in collaboration with their treatment team.
  • Facilitate relationships between birth parents and foster families when appropriate.
  • Identify indicators of age-appropriate development across all domains.
  • Deliver brief, trauma-informed, problem-oriented interventions for mental health or behavioral issues.
  • Manage behavioral health crises with appropriate interventions.
  • Complete documentation adhering to standards of practice and organizational policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field.
  • Minimum of two years of foster care experience.
  • Active Ohio LSW or LPC license.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
