Location:
Columbus, OH
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (overtime potential)
Pay: $25-$28 per hour, based on experience
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of plant equipment and facility systems. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a hands-on professional with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance on facility equipment and building systems
* Install, modify, and repair plant equipment with support from junior mechanics or contractors as needed
* Troubleshoot electrical and electronic control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and PC-based controls
* Fabricate fixtures and equipment from drawings, schematics, or conceptual designs
* Utilize CMMS software to document maintenance work, parts usage, and equipment history
* Operate a forklift when required for maintenance activities
* Maintain and repair electrical systems, piping, and fluid pumping systems
* Demonstrate proficiency in additional maintenance areas such as welding, HVAC, control circuits, or fabrication
* Use maintenance testing and measuring equipment to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
* Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Qualifications
* 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Formal technical training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields preferred
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple levels of an organization
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
* Valid driver's license required
* Prior forklift experience preferred
* Must be flexible and available for emergency or unplanned maintenance work outside scheduled hours when necessary
