Operating Engineer - JLL
What this job involves:  In this role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all facility systems and equipment. You'll bring specialized expertise in Electrical, HVAC, and Piping/Plumbing systems, while maintaining proficiency across multiple technical areas to meet diverse service needs. By proactively planning maintenance, keeping thorough records, and optimizing systems for energy efficiency, you will help reduce downtime and improve operational performance.

What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, motors, and building automation systems.
Conduct inspections and assessments of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, recommending improvements or repairs.
Diagnose and resolve heating, cooling, and humidification system issues using tools and test equipment.
Inspect, repair, and replace pumps, piping systems, valves, and other components.
Complete preventive maintenance tasks for systems such as automatic doors, gates, forklifts, scissor lifts, and safety stations.
Verify daily start-up of building systems including fire pumps, boilers, water heaters, and compressors.
Collaborate closely with facility management teams and clients, embodying JLL's culture of collaboration-locally and across the globe.

Required qualifications:

Must be a U.S. citizen.
Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
High School diploma or GED equivalent, plus two years of trade schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs.
5+ years of experience in commercial, industrial, or manufacturing facility maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, or electrical).
Experience utilizing CMMS, PM software, and Building Automation Systems (BAS) to monitor and optimize equipment performance.
Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and schematics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 30 ft, and work overhead with tools.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and water treatment systems.
7+ years of commercial HVAC experience, including large-scale building systems.
Familiarity with computers and iPad devices, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, SLACK, email, and Zoom.
Demonstrated success in implementing innovative maintenance practices that support JLL's mission to take the more inspiring, innovative, and optimistic path toward success.
