Facilities Mechanical Steam and Condensation Associate## Department:
Administration and Planning | FOD Operations Mechanical and Electrical:
Mechancial Under the supervision of a senior technician or supervisor, performs tasks that ensure the uninterrupted operations of mechanical systems and equipment. Inspects, tests, installs, fabricates, modifies, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs all welded piping systems and equipment. Piping systems and equipment include, but are not limited to boilers, compressed gas systems, steam & condensate systems, air compressors, laboratory and industrial kitchen equipment, steam stations, heat exchangers, condenser water, condensate, chilled water and heating hot water.
Responds to emergency situations and evaluates and corrects defects.
Assists other trades as needed; adheres to all safety practices and procedures; cleans and maintains work areas and equipment; attends meetings; properly completes documentation; provides a high level of customer service; communicates to customers, coworkers and supervision via written, electronic and verbal methods and devices; operates department vehicles; performs other duties as assigned. Shift, hours, days, and/or location are subject to change based on operational need in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement; may work overtime; subject to 24-hour emergency call.
** Minimum Classification Requirements:
** High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience; six months’ experience in maintenance, pipe fitting and/or welding trade and related equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Efficient skills and knowledge in using pipe fitting and welding tools and equipment. A basic understanding of plumbing and welding code compliance. Knowledge of piping components (i.e. types of valves, fittings, types of piping). A valid driver’s license. Successful completion of probationary period.
** Desired
Qualifications:
** Associates/technical degree or Vocational certificate in skilled trades/maintenance/welding related field; boiler operator’s license (e.g., low pressure, high pressure); valid OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health card## Additional Information:
The Target Hiring Range for this position is $27.15 - $33.94 per hour.
