Job Responsibilities (Including, But Not Limited To)- Efficiently perform machinery maintenance and repairs in the field and/or shop. Majority of the fleet is John Deere.
- Diagnose and repair various construction equipment and on-highway utility trucks and trailers using basic and specialty test equipment (mechanical or electronic).
- Troubleshoot and replace components in hydraulic systems (valves, hoses, fittings, tanks, pumps, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and repair complex wiring for systems such as utility booms, chassis, and engine wiring; read and understand wiring schematics.
- Perform basic fabrication and welding using MIG, ARC, OXY/Acetylene, torch, grinders, and other tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance and DOT/FMCSA inspections including PM services and repairs identified during inspections.
- Raise trucks, trailers, or other equipment using hydraulic or air-assisted jacks or hoists safely.
- Replace worn or defective brake components and tires as needed.
- Diagnose and repair air conditioning systems (company provides A/C machine and test equipment).
- Complete and submit all paperwork accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with minimum 5 years’ experience in this role or related field (medium/heavy duty truck repair, construction equipment repair, utility equipment repair, or similar).
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
- Ability to work independently, strong problem-solving skills, follow directions, and be self-motivated.
- Demonstrated integrity and professional conduct.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed; hours may include one weekend day, to be discussed.
- Knowledge and experience with diesel engines.
- Basic computer skills and organizational abilities.
- Must furnish own tools and work boots; specialized tools (e.g., computer scanners) provided by the company.
- Occasional field repairs may be required; travel to emergency breakdowns as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Associates or Trade school degree in automotive or diesel repair.
- ASE certifications / Air Conditioning 609 certification.
- Welding certifications.
- DOT inspections qualification.
- Brake certifications for air systems.
- Open to training and career growth.
- Experience operating floor jacks, changing tires, and repairing tires on steel rims.
- Perform lubrication, oil, and filter changes on various equipment.
- Perform safety inspections on equipment.
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.; up to 100 lbs. with assistance when required.
- Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally sit and climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust/focus.
