About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Residential Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and servicing of fire alarm systems in residential properties. You’ll ensure that every system is safe, reliable, and compliant with local and national fire safety codes, helping to protect families and homes across our community.
Key Responsibilities- Install and maintain fire alarm systems in residential properties, including single-family homes, apartments, and multi-family dwellings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all residential fire alarm and low-voltage functions.
- Coordinate daily work schedules and timelines with the project management team.
- Communicate effectively with homeowners, builders, vendors, and other on-site personnel.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Attend daily morning meetings and maintain accurate job site logs and documentation.
- Conduct inspections and system tests to confirm proper operation and code compliance.
- Diagnose and repair issues involving control panels, wiring, sensors, and alarm devices.
- Verify that all installations and service work meet NFPA, UL, and local code requirements.
- Identify potential issues proactively and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide responsive, on-call support for residential system emergencies as needed.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in residential fire alarm installation, service, and maintenance.
- State of Ohio Fire Alarm Certification required.
- NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
- OSHA 10-Hour and First Aid/CPR certifications a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Strong knowledge of residential fire alarm systems, wiring, and safety codes.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
