We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fiber Jetting/Blowing Foreman to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of fiber optic cabling systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of low voltage systems, fiber splicing, and network installation. You will work closely with other technicians to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities- Manage and track daily activities of assigned crews. Continually inspect work sites for potential hazards and/or safety concerns, ensuring safe work environments and compliance with state, federal, OSHA, and Congruex safety policies.
- Perform fiber jetting and blowing for the installation of fiber optic cables in various environments.
- Maintain a high level of commitment to safety and quality.
- Show excellent leadership and communication skills needed to lead a crew or crews on a job site.
- Maintain accurate records of installations (butterfly diagrams) such as photos, cable sequentials, route designation, vault and cable identification.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installations and service calls.
- Communicate orally and in writing with local officials, company management and staff, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Update the Construction and/or Project Manager on crew needs, progress, etc.
- File complete and accurate paperwork daily.
- Ensure work sites are cleaned up and restored after work.
- Travel to and from assigned job sites.
- Assist and train crews as needed.
- May schedule and coordinate subcontractors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with Plumett Super Jet, Cable Jet, Mini Jet or similar Jetting/Blowing machines.
- Experience working within Confined Spaces including Vaults and Manholes, along with an understanding of OSHA Standards.
- Proficient in operating air compressors, hydraulic reel trailers and similar types of machinery.
- Proven experience in fiber optic installations.
- Ability to work effectively with hand tools and other equipment necessary for cable installation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Possess and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Have board experience in a telecommunications construction environment, including placing, pulling, and transferring strand, coax, and fiber.
- 5 years minimum operating heavy construction equipment.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and project specifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with crew, leadership, and customers.
- Ability to manage crews.
- Ability to drive and operate company vehicles, bucket trucks, and work equipment.
