Responsibilities- On‑site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of Caterpillar (CAT) Power Generation equipment and related systems.
- Work independently from a fully equipped Ohio CAT service truck.
- Service and perform: CAT diesel and gas generators (5 KW to 3 MW)
- Switchgear and ATS systems
- Control panels and electrical distribution systems
- Load bank testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance.
- Use diagnostic tools (e.g., CAT ET, SIS, and other computer‑based diagnostic tools/software) for troubleshooting.
- Provide exceptional customer service and technical support.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Experience with CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or Detroit Diesel generator systems.
- Familiarity with switch gear brands like Russ electric, Lakeshore, or Asco.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and control diagrams.
- Military or field‑based experience in equipment diagnostics and repair is highly valued.
- Comfortable working independently in outdoor environments.
- Must own and safely use personal mechanic’s tools.
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of technical education focused on diesel or power generation systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience repairing diesel engines, generators, and industrial equipment.
