Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Duty in Columbus, OH
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, document observations, and respond to alarms and requests for assistance.

- Provide customer service to clients and visitors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter grounds; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
- Monitor access points and observe for unusual activity, policy violations, and/or potential hazards; assist with visitor direction and general information as needed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or public responders when required.
- Complete reports and maintain logs related to patrols, incidents, and daily activities; communicate observations and/or concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
- X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
