Armed Security Guard

Summary

The Armed Security Guard will report directly to the Security Operations Coordinator. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment through armed security services, vigilant monitoring, incident response, and exceptional customer service. The Armed Security Guard will work collaboratively with leadership and staff to protect employees, visitors, property, and assets while upholding company policies and procedures.

Former military experience is strongly preferred.

• Conduct regular armed patrols of the premises to ensure all areas are secure, properly locked, and free of safety hazards.
• Monitor security surveillance systems for Surge HQ to identify and respond to suspicious activities, threats, or breaches.
• Maintain a visible armed presence to deter criminal activity and enhance overall site security.
• Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and security incidents.
• Provide a professional and welcoming presence at entry points, greeting employees, visitors, and vendors while maintaining strict access control.
• Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering the facility and enforce visitor management procedures.
• Escort contractors, vendors, and visitors throughout the facility as required.
• Enforce company security policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports and submit them to the Security Operations Coordinator.
• Assist with emergency response procedures, including evacuation, medical emergencies, and critical incidents.
• Maintain control and safe handling of assigned firearms and equipment in accordance with company policy and state regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.
• Perform additional duties as needed to ensure the successful and secure operation of the company.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid state-issued Armed Security Guard license required.
• Must meet all state requirements to carry and maintain a firearm while on duty.
• Prior armed security experience required.
• Former military or law enforcement experience strongly preferred.
• Additional security-related training or certifications are a plus.
• Training and certifications in First Aid and/or CPR (or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional observation skills and situational awareness.
• Ability to remain calm, composed, and make sound decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations.
• High standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
• Proficiency with computer systems, Microsoft Office, email, and surveillance software.
• Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and remain alert for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry objects as required.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Well-groomed and professional appearance required.
