Delivery Driver​/Assistant Brewer

Responsibilities

Delivery duties and skills:

• While performing the duties of this job, delivery drivers frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift and/or move up to 165 pounds in multi-temperature environments ranging from 32F to 100F.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean driving record.
• Responsible for the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles.
• Accurately complete necessary paperwork.
• Ability to manage all of your distribution route financials.
• Any other duties as assigned.
• You must be personable. Brewery duties include keg cleaning, keg filling, and any number of odd jobs.
• Basic understanding of Barley’s products. (Become a craft beer expert!)
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
• Ability to add and subtract, using whole numbers and decimals.
• Excellent customer relation skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to process information/merchandise.
• Ability to communicate with supervisor, Company Sales Representatives, current and prospective customers on a professional level.
• Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.

• Come in prepared to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Communicate with the production team to understand the day’s objectives.
• Proper personal protective equipment is required to be worn throughout the day.
• Clean/Sanitize all cellar equipment, along with beer lines, outside of tanks, floors and drains.
• Cleaning of kegs
• Additional tasks designated by Head Brewer
• Follow SOPs and safety protocols.
• Contribute to improvements and processes required to gain efficiency and quality assurance.
• Complete special projects assigned by Head Brewer and Brewpub management.
• Remain calm and poised during stressful situations/emergencies and maintain an upbeat and positive attitude.
• Remain flexible in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
• Safely work with hazardous chemicals.
• Writing and math skills necessary.
• Frequent problem solving will be required.
• Communicate clearly with Production Team.
• Ability to ask for help to ensure product meets quality expectations, mistakes are avoided, and product is delivered on time.
• Assist with off premise activities like beer festivals.

• Consistently lift and carry 50 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 165 pounds
• Must be able to move, slide full half barrel kegs ~165 pounds.
• With assistance, must be able to help lift up to 165 pound kegs.
• Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, lifting, kneeling, repetitive hand and wrist motion, and reaching.
• Climb stairs to brew house up to several times per day.
• Must be able to stand and work for an entire shift.
• Work with hot, cold and hazardous equipment and materials.

There is the potential for working as a tipped employee in Barley’s Brewpub if desired.
