Overview

Retail Store Management Trainee to join our Team. The role offers $13.00 to $20.00 per hour and is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in fast-tracking into a Store Management position. A minimum of 1 year retail management experience is required.

Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, potentially adding an average of $1.14 per hour on top of the base hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. The Store Manager Trainee is accountable for day-to-day store operations and fostering a positive, productive environment. This position will partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction.

It sets the tone for a customer-centric environment.

Alongside the Store Manager, this role analyzes store financial statements to ensure goals are met. You will commit to the asset protection program, promote the business, and target new customer acquisition. Employees work with a variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
  • Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including cash drawer and merchandise counts, following procedures to protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and securing loans.
  • Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store systems, and reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and purchasing processes to maintain value and integrity of loans.
  • Complete assigned tasks and self-development training as requested.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to align with the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge.
  • The Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
