Overview

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring a great customer experience while maintaining a clean and organized bar area. They engage with patrons, recommend drinks, and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Drink Preparation: Mix, garnish, and serve drinks according to recipes and customer preferences.
  • Drink Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of a wide variety of beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits.
  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers, take orders, and provide recommendations based on preferences.

    Experience:

    Build relationships with regular patrons to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Service: Seat and serve our guests at both bar and tables.
  • Cash Handling: Handle payments, operate cash registers, and manage tabs accurately.
  • Sales Recording: Ensure proper recording of sales and compliance with tipping policies.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and restock bar inventory, including liquor, mixers, and supplies.
  • Inventory Checks: Conduct inventory checks and communicate stock needs to management.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Keep the bar area clean and organized, including washing glasses and equipment.
  • Compliance: Follow all food and beverage safety regulations.
  • Waste/Trash: Take restaurant trash out.

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Team Participation: Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Occasional Duties: May occasionally assist with room service.

Education, Experience, and Skills (Qualifications/Requirements)
  • Previous experience as a bartender or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of mixology, drink recipes, and techniques.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
  • Must meet the legal age requirement to serve alcohol.
  • Multitasking and time management.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift trays or items up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for serving and carrying trays.
