Job Description Summary

The Restaurant Server is responsible for delivering warm, attentive, and efficient service that creates an exceptional dining experience for every guest. This role supports the overall success of the hotel's food and beverage operations by providing consistent service, maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness, and upholding all service, safety, and liquor compliance requirements.

Servers are expected to anticipate guest needs, work collaboratively with culinary and stewarding teams, and represent the hotel with professionalism and positivity at all times.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide prompt, friendly, and attentive service to guests during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events
  • Greet guests warmly, take accurate food and beverage orders, and ensure timely delivery
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of menus, specials, ingredients, and beverage offerings, including beer, wine, and cocktails
  • Follow all service standards and procedures to ensure consistency and quality
  • Use the POS system to open, manage, and close guest checks accurately
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and resolve concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain responsibility for assigned tables, checks, and payments
  • Set up, maintain, and break down assigned service areas
  • Perform side work and closing/opening duties as assigned
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and work areas
  • Communicate effectively with culinary and stewarding teams to ensure smooth service flow
  • Assist with bussing, resetting tables, and maintaining service readiness during high-volume periods
  • Maintain awareness of hotel events, functions, and promotions taking place during each shift
  • Adhere to all liquor liability laws, service guidelines, and safety policies
  • Attend required pre-shift meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance and follow grooming standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support hotel operations

  • Previous restaurant or guest service experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to handle cash, credit cards, vouchers, and POS systems accurately
  • Willingness to learn menus, service standards, and safety procedures
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to push carts and carry trays
  • Work performed in restaurant, bar, kitchen, and hotel areas
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and cleaning chemicals
