Overview
Research Scientist, Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, OH. Design experiments and conduct research in projects related to child maltreatment, substance use disorders, drug overdose prevention, and other injury and violence-related topics. Create and manage rigorous data collection and study intervention protocols to ensure quality control. Troubleshoot research challenges. Record, analyze, and interpret primary and secondary data. Prepare analytic results for reports, presentations, and publication.
Prepare and submit original research manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed scientific journals. Develop reports and presentations and present study findings at scientific conferences. Create institutional review board applications and ensure compliance with IRB protocols and data use agreements. Min. requirements include:
Ph.D. in Public Health, Social Work, or Psychology plus 2 years of experience including 2 years of experience with quantitative data management and analysis, 2 years of experience with data analysis software such as SAS, STATA, and/or SPSS, and prior authorship/co-authorship of peer-reviewed research publications required.
