OverviewThe Garg lab studies the molecular mechanisms of congenital cardiovascular disease. The lab is seeking a postdoctoral scientist to investigate the "Mechanisms and Therapeutics for Congenital Aortic Valve Disease." This NIH-funded project studies the cellular and molecular pathways that underlie the development and disease progression of congenital aortic valve stenosis using a genetic murine model. Novel therapeutics will be tested to prevent/slow stenotic disease progression.
This position will require experience in the use of genetically modified mouse models (i.e. handling, colony management, drug treatments), cardiovascular physiology, cardiac development, and genomics. Experience in mouse echocardiography is highly desired. Additional details: NIH-funded grant and Garg Lab page.
