Health Sciences | Government Resource Center

The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) invites applications for a Reporting and Analytics Consultant position (“Research Consultant”). A successful applicant will engage in applied health services and population health research in a project-based, team setting. The successful candidate will be able to lead survey and/or mixed methods (i.e. blended qualitative and quantitative) research projects.

Research Consultants are expected to perform technical tasks and contribute to project leadership and administration. They are expected to complete work independently on highly complex research tasks. Research Consultants work on multiple projects at a time and have significant project responsibilities.

Typical responsibilities are project-specific and may include combinations of the following: (1) leading highly complex research tasks or projects as a co-PI or PI, as needed; (2) independently determining the method(s) for completion of new projects (may receive guidance on overall project objectives); (3) developing new practices, processes, metrics or models, and providing solutions which may set precedent for the organization;

(4) applying developed subject matter and methodological knowledge and advanced understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects; (5) providing guidance to research project and project sponsor colleagues; (6) conveying difficult, complex or sensitive information, and facilitating productive dialogue among project stakeholders.

Minimum

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent is required.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree (master’s degree or a PhD) in a relevant field of study is required. Successful completion of a background check is required. The selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen. Candidates selected for an interview may be asked to provide a code sample.

As part of the application for this position, please submit, along with a CV/Resume, a writing sample that demonstrates independent quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods research. For example, a solo or primary-authored peer-reviewed publication, manuscript draft, brief, research protocol, or funding proposal would be sufficient.

Additional Desired

Qualifications:

Advanced experience with survey development, data collection, and data analysis. A PhD in a relevant field of study. Experience conducting research in applied settings. Experience with population health surveys and/or health services surveys. Experience with mixed-methods study designs. Experience working with health-related state agencies.
