• Assist and support scientific investigation in neuron-glia interactions and related neurological research within the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology.
• Independently conduct assigned experiments, including PCR reactions, cloning, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures, and Western blot analysis.
• Sort and process tissue and blood samples; perform routine procedures on lab animals; conduct various imaging techniques.
• Record, consolidate, and assist with analysis of research results; evaluate validity of data from experimental procedures.
• Summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts.
• Prepare research progress reports; assist principal investigator with publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts.
• Conduct library research on requested topics; oversee and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Assist in training junior research staff, undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation.
• Set up and operate laboratory equipment; monitor research supplies, inventory, and initiate procurement requests as needed.

• Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 4 years of relevant experience with a High School diploma or GED.
• 2 years of relevant experience with an Associate's Degree.
• 0 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
• Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research.
