Research Senior Technician - Molecular Medicine & Therapeutics

Research Senior Technician to assist and support scientific investigation to study molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular disease using human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) in the laboratory of Dr. Masataka Nishiga MD PhD at the Pelotonia Research Center.

Responsibilities
  • Perform molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques (maintenance and differentiation of human iPSC lines, CRISPR‑based genome editing, cloning, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, assays, immunostaining, Western blot).
  • Sort and process biological samples; test and evaluate current procedures.
  • Record, consolidate, and assist with analysis of research results; summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts.
  • Prepare research progress reports; assist principal investigator with publications, manuscripts, posters, and abstracts.
  • Conduct literature searches and maintain accurate laboratory records.
  • Assist in training junior research staff, undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation.
  • Set up and operate laboratory equipment; monitor research supplies and initiate procurement requests.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Four years of relevant experience (or 2 years with Associate's Degree, or none with Bachelor's) in biological or health science research.
  • Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in research.
