Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry RN – Ohio

Start Date: April 20, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36-hour orientation provided; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio across all shifts

Highlights:

  • Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown environment serving diverse patient populations (pediatric through geriatric)
  • Advanced skill utilization including ventricular assist devices, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventilated patient care
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy
  • 32-bed unit with daily census of 32 patients; EPIC charting system
  • Opportunity to work with complex cases including renal failure, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and ortho trauma
  • ER observation or holding experience integrated into care model

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Valid Compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of application
  • Telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
  • PCU/Stepdown care experience strongly preferred
  • ER observation, ER holding, or Medical-Surgical/Telemetry background required
  • Experience with IV insulin and heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, and blood product administration
  • Proficiency in tracheostomy care, wound care, non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP), and EPIC documentation preferred
  • Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
  • Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required, including at least one from a formal leadership role
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
