Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry - Oncology position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Job Details

• Works on a Med/Surg Oncology unit in a hospital setting,

• Patient population includes adults with soft tissue malignancies receiving chemotherapy, symptom management, and diagnostic services, as well as patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and management of comorbidities,

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4,

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30),

• May be scheduled on a rotating day/night basis depending on departmental needs, with shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period,

• Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds,

• Epic EMR experience required,

• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity,

Job Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand,

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,

• Current BLS certification required,

• Epic EMR proficiency required,

• Required skills include: dysrhythmia interpretation, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV starts, assistance with chest tube insertion/removal, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation,

• Oncology experience preferred but not required,

• Previous travel nursing experience preferred,

• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration,

• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Unit has a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention,

• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application,

• Candidates who have previously worked with this health system are not required to take a 30-day break between assignments to change representation (except Sterile Processing Techs)
