Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Job Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Oncology unit (19 James) within an inpatient hospital setting,

• Patient population includes oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy patients undergoing diagnostic services and symptom management, and patients with comorbidity management needs,

• Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention,

• Continuous cardiac monitoring is a core component of patient care on this unit,

• Patient ratio is 1:4,

• Shift is nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30); rotating day/night contracts may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination based on departmental needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period,

• Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds,

• Epic EMR - experience required,

• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity,

Job Requirements

• Active OH RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand,

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,

• Current BLS certification required,

• Epic EMR experience required,

• Proficiency in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation required,

• Required skills include: accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV insertion, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation,

• Previous travel nursing experience preferred,

• Oncology experience preferred but not required,

• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration,

• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration,

• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at the time of initial consideration,

• There is no required break between assignments when changing representation at this facility (excluding Sterile Processing Techs),
