Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Surgical Oncology RN – Ohio

Start Date: April 6, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights or nights only); self-scheduling with unit approval; variable weekend coverage based on unit needs

• Mixed acuity PCU/Med-Surg unit specializing in surgical oncology patients including breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and reconstructive plastics
• Goal staffing ratio of 1:4, with occasional 1:5 assignments
• Comprehensive orientation:
  First week Monday-Friday days, followed by 36 hours of precepted on-unit training
• Epic charting system with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and respiratory services
• Opportunity to care for complex oncology patients requiring chemotherapy, blood transfusions, insulin/heparin drips, and oncologic emergency management
• 36-bed unit with full range of specialized equipment including GE telemetry, Alaris pumps, and modern monitoring systems

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience; at least 1 year must be current specialty experience in PCU or surgical oncology
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy care
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required (at least one must be from a manager or formal supervisor)
• Willingness to float to other acute care oncology units as needed
