Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position in Ohio with a compact or OH RN license and advanced neuro critical care skills.
Responsibilities- Work in the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) of a hospital setting
- Care for neurocritical patients with an estimated 1:1-2 patient ratio
- Day/night rotating shifts of 12 hours, including every other weekend
- On-call responsibilities are required
- Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Specialized procedures include IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring
- Epic EHR is used and Epic experience is required
- Role includes providing advanced neuro critical care to a complex patient population
- Team-oriented environment with support from clinical leadership
- Orientation will be provided upon assignment start
- All candidates must complete the Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after contract signing
- Former employees may apply if separated for at least 6 months; current employees are not eligible for travel positions at this facility
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- All requests for time off must be included during initial consideration and built into the contract
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years' Neuro ICU experience required
- Certifications required: BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Required skills:
IV start, telemetry, ventilators, and intracranial pressure monitoring - Previous travel experience is preferred
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, or director (no coworker references accepted)
