Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is adhered to. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while promoting safety and well-being within a patient-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide patient education.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to the care team.
- Supervise and direct ancillary nursing personnel to ensure effective patient care.
- Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the orientation period.
- Engage in professional growth and continuing education to enhance nursing skills.
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (specific to CIRH only).
- Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
