Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring but not intensive care. The nurse assesses patient conditions, monitors vital signs, administers medications, and manages cardiac telemetry and advanced equipment. They collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Responsibilities include patient education, documentation, and early identification of changes in patient status.

The PCU nurse ensures adherence to safety protocols and clinical standards while delivering compassionate, high‑quality care. Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills are essential for this role.

Weekdays and some weekends. Rotating holidays. Required to float within units of the equivalent or lower level of acuity.

Estimated patient ratios 1:3

• 2 Years of PCU experience required
• BLS, ACLS required
• Skills:
  
  IV start, telemetry, EPIC experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
