Position: Staff Nurse (RN) Acute Care - General Medicine

Overview

The Staff Nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.

Position Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, delegates, and evaluates nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and manage care for patients and families; direct and supervise nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team.
  • Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate, and evaluate nursing care for patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited nursing program required.
  • Current Ohio license or interim permit.
  • Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
Unit information

9 East Doan is a 23-bed unit in the Acute Care Department. We care for a wide variety of patients and specialize in medical issues ranging from acutely ill to long-term illness and disease management. Nurses work directly with attending physicians to deliver optimal care in a team-centered environment. Our nursing practice is staff-driven through the Unit Leadership Committee and Evidence-Based Practice.

The team is passionate about staff development and advancement as a dedicated education unit.
