Description:
Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides specialized, high-acuity care to critically ill patients with life-threatening conditions. The nurse performs continuous patient assessments, monitors complex medical equipment, and administers advanced medications and life-support therapies. They collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust critical care plans. Responsibilities include rapid response to patient condition changes, detailed documentation, and family education and support.

The ICU nurse ensures strict compliance with safety protocols, infection control, and evidence-based practices. Strong critical thinking, clinical expertise, and emotional resilience are essential for this role.

Critical Care Float Pool RN

Shift: 3x12s | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (36 hours/week)

Description:
Join our Critical Care Float Pool for weekend night shifts with flexibility to meet unit needs as they arise. Nurses will float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including:

• Neuro ICU

• Surgical ICUs

• Medical ICUs (MICU x2)

• Cardiology/Diagnostics

• CVICU

• SICU / MICU / NCCU

Float Policy:
Nurses are required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience

• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS – Required

• Proficiency with EPIC – Required

• Must have:
o IV Start
o Telemetry
o Ventilator management experience
Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
