Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) - Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)

Columbus, OH | Job Type: Travel Contract | Duration: 13 weeks | Shift: 3x12 Rotating Pay: $2,130.12/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

The CVICU Registered Nurse provides specialized critical care to patients recovering from complex cardiovascular surgeries and procedures, including open‑heart surgery, heart transplants, and advanced cardiac interventions. This role requires expert knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive medication administration, and advanced life‑support techniques.

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in an intensive care setting.
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic parameters, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings.
• Administer and titrate vasoactive medications, antiarrhythmics, and other critical care drugs.
• Manage invasive lines (central lines, arterial lines), chest tubes, and temporary pacing wires.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including cardiac arrest and rapid deterioration.
• Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on post‑operative care and recovery expectations.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies.

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).

Licensure: Current RN license in [State].

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required
• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) – Preferred

Minimum 1–2 years of recent CVICU or cardiac ICU experience required.

• Expertise in cardiovascular physiology and critical care interventions.
• Strong proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and rhythm interpretation.
• Ability to manage high‑acuity patients and respond effectively in emergencies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient care for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity for operating critical care equipment.
