CVOR Operating Room Registered Nurse

Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) on Friday, Saturday, and one weekday night. Flexibility is required.

• Provide high-quality patient care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).
• Assist in cardiac and vascular surgical procedures, including open and endovascular cases.
• Implement best practices for infection control and patient safety.
• Administer medications and blood products as necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to the Universal Protocol and perform time-out procedures before surgeries.

• Minimum of 3 years overall operating room experience, with at least 2 years focused on cardiac and vascular procedures.
• 1 year of experience specifically in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).
• Experience in a Level I Trauma facility is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory;
  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.

• Familiarity with EPIC charting system.
• Proficient in various cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, including but not limited to:
• Aortic Aneurysm Repair
• Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
• Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
• Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD)
• Ability to manage trauma cases and respond to emergency situations effectively.

• Work within a patient ratio of 1:1 on assigned shifts, ensuring comprehensive and personalized care.
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations with diverse cardiac and vascular conditions.

• Call responsibilities are not required for this position.
• Pre-approved time off is limited to one request.
• The unit features 7 operating rooms dedicated to cardiac and vascular care.

The Cardiovascular Operating Room specializes in providing advanced surgical interventions, including both open heart surgeries and minimally invasive endovascular procedures, for patients needing heart and vascular care.
