Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift

The Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) at Mount Carmel East has 16 beds. The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care to high‑acuity neuro patients and collaborate with a team in a comprehensive stroke center environment. The RN will deliver patient care within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and the Nursing Process.

• Provide nursing care and maintain a patient safety environment, promote evidence‑based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibit professionalism within the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
• Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, collaborating with patients and families to develop and implement a plan of care including physical, spiritual, and educational components.
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner and keep patients/families apprised.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.

• Education:
  
  Graduate from a school of nursing.
• Licensure/Certification:
  Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Experience:
  
  2 years of experience required for Casual RNs.
• All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
