Overview

Administrative Nursing Supervisor – University Hospital is responsible for administering nursing operations during off-shift hours, including weekends and holidays, and for enforcing hospital, nursing and medical policies and procedures. The University Hospitals system is committed to enhancing the quality of care our patients receive.

• Supervise the immediate care of patients on a given tour of duty, including making rounds to all patient care areas.
• Obtain patient reports from the charge nurse and maintain knowledge of current patient status.
• Supervise nursing department personnel on duty and contribute to the evaluation of nursing personnel, recommending personnel actions to the nurse manager (including disciplinary actions and/or terminations).
• Coordinate nursing activities with related departments and act as liaison to OSUH.
• Provide information for staffing needs and function as the university hospitals representative for crisis, emergency or unusual situations.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Ohio licensure.
• Professional leadership or clinical certification preferred or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Progressively responsible hospital nursing experience in administration and supervision.
• ACLS certification preferred.

• Minimum: 2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a major in nursing.
• Desired:
  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a major in nursing.
