Administrative Nursing Supervisor

Scope of Position

The Supervisorisprimarilyresponsibleforadministeringnursingoperationswithin The James Cancer Hospital and  Research Instituteduring off-shift hours including weekends and holidays.

The Administrative Nursing  Supervisor is responsible for enforcing hospital, nursing and medical policies and procedures.

Supervisingtheimmediatecareofourpatientsonagiventourofduty,whichincludesmakingroundstoallpatient care areas. Obtains report from the charge nurse and is knowledgeable of current patient status. Supervises the personnel of the nursing department on duty and contributes to evaluation of nursing personnel, recommends personnelactiontotheappropriatenursemanagerincludingdisciplinaryactionsand/orterminations.

Coordinates nursing activities with those of related departments, acts as liaison to OSUH. Provides information for staffing needs. Functions as The James Cancer Hospital amp;
Research Institute representative for crisis, emergency orunusualsituations.

Graduateofanaccreditedschoolofnursing. Current Ohiolicensure. Progressivelyresponsiblehospitalnursing experience in administration, and supervision. BSN required. ACLS certification preferred.
