Non-Profit & Social Impact
Community Health, Volunteer / Humanitarian
Make-A-Day (MAD) is a community-based nonprofit serving individuals and families experiencing housing and economic instability across Franklin County, Ohio. MAD uses a mobile, relationship-centered approach to reduce barriers to stability by meeting people where they are and connecting them to essential resources that support food security, housing, health, and economic opportunity. MAD’s work centers on mobile outreach, pop-up care events, and ongoing navigation services delivered in neighborhoods, encampments, shelters, and community spaces.
Food access is a core entry point to MAD’s services, helping build trust while addressing immediate health needs. Through outreach and pop-up events, participants are connected to housing navigation, identification assistance, benefits enrollment, healthcare and recovery-support referrals, and other critical services. In addition, MAD operates Move the Box, a mobile record-relief initiative that provides expungement and record-sealing support to justice-involved individuals.
By removing legal barriers to employment and housing, this program addresses root causes of hunger and poverty while supporting long-term stability. MAD works in close partnership with local food access organizations, housing providers, healthcare systems, and public agencies to ensure participants are not lost between systems. By combining direct community engagement with systems navigation and advocacy, MAD helps individuals move toward improved health outcomes, housing stability, and economic mobility while strengthening the broader community response to hunger and poverty.
