Job FocusThe Grants Manager plays a vital role in securing grants and funds that directly impact the Central Ohio community. The position records grant activity timelines and deadlines to ensure smooth operations, collaborates with staff and departments, and adheres to Salvation Army procedures to complete grant applications efficiently. Key responsibilities include financial management and coordination of grant activities, ensuring compliance with all internal, local, state, and federal policies, reviewing and assisting with grant proposals and reports, overseeing compliance and monitoring, communicating with funding agencies, and ensuring overall financial contract compliance.
With an annual fundraising goal assigned, the role underscores the importance of securing essential funds for Central Ohio.

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience in accounting, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- Previous grant or persuasive writing experience.
- Strong written, communication, and business skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to relate professionally and effectively with key constituencies (internal and external), and manage sensitive situations and confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with donor database applications;
Salesforce or CRM experience is a plus. - Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Understanding and appreciation of The Salvation Army mission.
- Collaborative, energetic team player.
- Responsiveness to management direction, commitment to working extended hours as needed, and completion of tasks on time or notification of manager with an alternate plan.
- Occasional morning, evening, and weekend work required for events and donor meetings.
