Continuous Improvement Leader - Blowmold Production Position Summary
Enhances organizational efficiency and effectiveness by implementing and managing continuous improvement projects and initiatives including but not limited to Safety, Quality, Output and Cost areas to improve company metrics and accelerate growth within injection / blowmold facility and other G&J facilities as needed.
Process and Data Analysis- Analyzes existing processes and procedures to identify inefficiencies, waste and needs for improvement.
- Develops and implements strategies including lean to improve safety, quality, cost, workflow and performance.
- Analyzes data analytics from company used software and data such as Sage Clarity, Line Spec, Voxel, current QC data and others to identify improvement focus areas / needs.
- Works with production team, maintenance team and functional leaders to identify improvement opportunities.
- Assists other G&J facilities in kaizen projects as needed.
- Manages and carries out kaizen, lean and other improvement projects from cradle to grave (PDCA / DMAIC).
- Works with the finance department to evaluate project savings estimates, validate reported CI benefits, and ensure accurate accounting of CI productivity.
- Assists with developing safety, quality and continuous improvement programs.
- Tracking of all achieved / ongoing savings from projects.
- Research and benchmark best practices within and outside the organization to establish new standards, procedures and future projects.
- Development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and work instructions to establish new standards and procedures.
- Development and implementation of data tracking systems to track potential improvement areas.
- Subject matter expert in quality, continuous improvement concepts and tools, and LEAN principles to drive breakthrough performance in people, quality, material flow, and cost.
2-year associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree and Lean / Six sigma certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
Experience1-3 years of strong knowledge of Lean processes and methodologies within a manufacturing environment. Experience with Value Stream Mapping, Facilitating Kaizen events and knowledge of lean tools and process such as Continuous flow, set up reduction / SMED, pull systems, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5S practices.
Computer SkillsMust have strong computer skills in Excel / data analysis and manipulation.
Certification & LicensesLean / Six sigma certification (or willingness to obtain).
Other RequirementsAnalytical, data driven, results and process driven by nature. Should have a strong desire for continuous improvement and a “What’s next” attitude. Must be able to challenge the status quo while forming collaboration.
